Pixelpal connects you with people from around the world. It’s the quickest way to find a new pen pal, to brush up on your language skills or learn something new about another culture.
Personality over popularity
You might be wondering why Pixelpal only allows the use of pre-selected avatars instead of giving you the option to upload your own profile picture. The answer is simple: we wanted to create a platform where your personality does the talking rather than your beautiful profile picture. After all, this is NOT a dating app!
There are no ‘Likes’ or ‘Followers’
Pixelpal is all about creating meaningful connections. All too often we define our self-worth based on the number of followers we have on social media or by the amount of ‘likes’ our photos generate. On Pixelpal everyone has a chance to find a new friend regardless of their social media footprint.
Here are some tips how to get the most out of your experience with the Pixelpal app.
The feed is where you discover new friends. The feed automatically shows you people who share your language. You can also see how many common interests you share. You can filter the feed by geographic location. That way you can find people from specific countries who know the same languages as you. If you want to connect with another person simply click on the start discussion button and send them a message. Don’t forget to be polite.
Your status updates are posted to the feed, just like everybody else’s updates. You can only have one status update at any given time.
The ‘Discussions’ tab is where you will find all your active chats. The great thing about Pixelpal is that once you start chatting with someone your conversation will always be there.
Your profile tab is your very own space. You can edit your avatar. You can write or edit your bio. Speaking of your bio, we highly recommend that you spend some time on it. It’s another way for you to show your personality.
We are currently in beta. With your help our community will grow and we will refine your experience in the app. If you enjoy your experience please share it with your friends.
